Description
Out of the poems of nine narrators, The Hammer of the Place (1844) and The Apostle (1848) stand out. The former, this comic epic, a parody of the genre, declares war with a deadly seriousness on the earlier literary era, which is also prone to pathology. At the same time, it is a striking artistic statement: in poetry, everything and everyone has a place, and thus the life of the people. This idea — the truth and right of the people — is further articulated in the Apostle. In the rhyming lines of the dramatic-glowing poem, the figure of a lonely revolutionary ready to do and die for the community is glorified, but the poet also reveals his mistakes and mistakes.
